Boat Handling Day (24 May) & Cross-Channel Dash (24-27 May) - URGENT!

13-Apr-2024 15:40

These two events are linked, in terms of yacht charter and therefore financials: the bank-holiday weekend of the Cross-Channel Cruise enables a cheaper rate for the additional day at the start of the charter for the Boat Handling training day.

I am super-pleased that we have four members signed-up for the Boat Handling Day, so that is now fully booked. However, it is reliant upon the Cross-Channel Dash weekend going ahead.

For the Cross-Channel, we have a Skipper and Mate booked on, plus two crew. We need 6 crew in total to make the charter financially viable for all.

So, if you fancy a 'dash' across the Channel for a couple of days in France, with great food, wine and the opportunity to bring back 24 bottles of wine each (!) then please get in touch asap.

Paul Mapp Celebration Weekend (2 – 4 Aug)

18-Mar-2024 08:37

As was to be expected, a weekend celebrating the life of Paul Mapp was going to be popular. Paul, who was a DHSC member for many years and sadly died last year, was well known by most members.

We have already upgraded from the usual Oceanis 37 to a Dufour 430 (10 berth) chartered, and are on the cusp of upgrading to a Dufour 460 (12 berth) or possibly even two boats. If you are at all interested in joining us for what will be a fantastic weekend, please get in touch asap so we can arrange the charters while the boats are available.
