Vortec Marine logo

Vortec Marine

I've experienced first-hand the services Vortec can offer, and also attended several RYA and ISAF training courses run by them. Their fire training simulator — with real fires! — is quite an experience and unique to them; it even made it into a Yachting Monthly article! Club members receive a 15% discount on training courses; please contact Ross Collingwood at Vortec for more information.

LV Yachting logo

LV Yachting

LV Yachting (formerly Performance Yacht Charter) offer inshore and offshore racing on high-performance yachts, with professional race skippers and trainers. Myself and several other club members have raced with LV Yachting before and can thoroughly recommend them; please contact me for further information.

Industrial Workwear logo

Industrial Workwear

For DHSC branded clothing, have a look at Industrial Workwear’s website to see what they can offer. They already have the DHSC logo ready to stitch (not print!) onto your chosen items. Items that we’ve ordered in the past and worked well for sailing include:

Simply email Craig and he will help with your order and the stitched DHSC logo.

RNLI logo

Royal National Lifeboat Institution

While not a supplier as such, the RNLI have always been keenly supported by the club; indeed, they're even referenced in the club’s constitution!

Their tireless work can only be admired: in 2015, for example, the RNLI rescued 9,763 people in the UK and Ireland. Their volunteer lifeboat crews rescued 7,973 people whilst the charity’s lifeguards rescued 1,790 people around UK and Irish coastal waters. Since 1824 they have provided invaluable service for marine safety and sustainability, and all this whilst being a non-government funded charity.

The club ran a charity auction in the spring of 2017, raising £1,700 with 100% going to the RNLI. If you’re ever in the Poole area, do consider stopping by the RNLI College for a tour, a meal in their excellent restaurant or an overnight stay… which all help raise funds for them.

What are partner suppliers?

Over the years we have built excellent relationships with some of our suppliers. Those listed here have a particularly good working relationship with the club, typically offering our members discounted rates and prices, last-minute deals, or some form of preferential treatment. In return, we’re more than happy to promote and recommend them here.

To help ensure you get the services and/or prices as a DHSC member, don’t forget to mention us when you contact them. Some suppliers may need proof of membership: just ask them to email me with your details.
